I'm happy that from now on, when people find out I do triathlons and they ask if I've done an ironman. I can say damn right I have. Just kidding, I've always wanted to do an Ironman and experience it. Today I did just that. 8:49:00 for my first full ironman and pro debut, pretty happy with everything except mile 7 to mile 26.2 of the run. Man that hurt! I have so much respect for all ironman finishers out there. I have a lot to more to learn to get this distance right.
The support out on the course was incredible. I couldn't have done the race without the support of friends, family and my coach Nicholas Thompson at TriDot Triathlon Training(who predicted my run time exactly actually! lol) and helping me transition into full time work and still racing as a pro. And thanks to Team Zoot Zoot Sports for supporting me, along with team Zoot sponsors zealios for keeping my skin not sunburnt for 8+ hours. Boom Nutrition for their bomb gel. and P-fits "Fitted by Pedro" for keeping my body happy for 112 miles on the bike. and my mom for her unconditional love and her daily variety of nutritious food, and my dad Ted Hsiao for massaging me and taking care of me this weekend!
